Mrs. Bennet is Frantic as Ever...

One might think that Mrs. Bennet would be overjoyed that her daughter is marrying. This is simply not the case. In her usually frantic manner, Mrs. Bennet is fretting about Lydia marrying Wickham. As a result of this, Mrs. Bennet is as irritating as ever. She will not cease to criticize Colonel Forster for not taking proper care of her daughter. Frankly, this incident is not Colonel Forster's fault. Rather, it is completely Lydia's. Lydia should have better sense than to simply elope with someone whom she hardly knows. Wickham should also be ashamed; why is he so intent on marrying women simply for their money.

  1. Father, our mother just has a big heart. She is constantly worrying about us. The blame should not fall upon Colonel Forster. I am hoping Lydia has found love, and Wickham has changed his ways.

  2. I agree with you extremely on this matter, father. Colonel Forster should be the last to blame for this incident; his generosity was what allowed Lydia to accompany him and his wife to Brighton in the first place. Lydia should be mature enough to realize that eloping with a man she knows very little about is a foolish idea and troubles everyone that is acquainted with her. However, I know that Lydia will be found eventually, so there is not much to fear; Wickham may be deceiving, but he will bring no harm to her.
